If you’re looking for an intimate cocktail bar in Edinburgh, then look no further than Bar Tonic, which promises to make your visit “all about you”.
This award-winning cocktail bar in Edinburgh has a laid-back approach to its service and drinks, while remaining attentive, professional as well as serving some of the best cocktails you will have tasted.
As with many of Edinburgh’s top cocktail bars, Bar Tonic is a hidden gem and is situated on North Castle Street.
Once you find it, though, it is not a disappointment as the website says: “Whether it’s your first time here or your home away from home we hope to put a smile on your face as you sing, dance, drink and laugh, surrounded by the best company in town.
“Finally, once you’ve had your fill, we hope you leave fully content and ever so slightly inebriated.”
The bar is open Sunday to Thursday 5pm-1am, Friday 2pm-1am and Saturday 1pm-1am, so plenty of time to pay it a visit.
Weekdays are relaxed, with light music played in the background, but things get pumping from Thursday onwards with live DJs. Warning: “Don’t be surprised if you find yourself up and dancing to our bartenders’ party tunes,” advises the website.
Cocktails are priced between £8 and £10, and are spread across six menus covering five spirit types and a selection of classics.
The cocktail menu covers all of the spirits, and the drinks have some fun and quirky names, such as Keep the Change Ya Filthy Animal – Ketel One Vodka, Briottet Rhubarbe Liqueur, fresh lemon juice and blackberry purée (£8.50).
Straight on Til Morning (can you see a theme yet?) is made using Tanqueray gin, Briottet Liqueur de Pamplemousse Rose, fresh pineapple juice and lime juice with a touch of coconut syrup (£8).
