This new hot spot neighbourhood cocktail bar in the southside of Glasgow offers a real escape and something different for cocktail lovers.

Opened in July 2023 customers are in for a real treat when they find this intimate bar tucked away at the end of the stairs at number 441 Victoria Road, next to a Japanese restaurant.

The bar plays to its location with its own strapline on social media being “See you up the stairs.”

The hidden gem is reportedly named Charlie Brown’s because it was inspired by Quentin Tarantino's iconic film Kill Bill.

Charlie Brown’s offers a well-crafted and thought through drinks list. It serves up cocktails inspired by nostalgic flavours, such as peanut butter and jelly, but bartenders do encourage people to order their favourite classics as well. There is also a rotating wine list and its changing ‘community sips’ delivers drinks inspired by and in collaboration with local businesses.

Some cocktail highlights showcased on their Instagram feed include the Thunder & Glory made with Avallen Calvados, Barsol Pisco, Crossip Blazing Pineapple, Guava and Dragon Fruit. ABV wise it can be made no and low or fully loaded.

There is also the Boulevardier, which is described as “bitter, boozy & sweet” and a variation of the much-loved Negroni. This has quite a difference in favour to the gin-based Negroni which is described as “crisp & bracing” as the whisk(e)y-based Boulevardier is “rich & cockle warming.”

The business is owned by Paul Gillies, with general manager Lynsey Cameron and head bartender Elyse Von Ruinn also on board.
