Stand back, the bartenders at Lab 22 in Cardiff breathe fire and you don’t want a singed eyebrow now, do you?
Come to this Cardiff cocktail bar if you want a side of chemistry with your drink. The theatre in the sophisticated bar is fantastic.
If you want to see all the action, then book on one of Lab 22’s three experience packages, which last between one and two hours.
The first is a cocktail and drinks package that takes you through either a five-course drinks tasting (£44.95pp) or three courses (£29.95pp).
The cocktail masterclass is priced at £24.95 per person and shows you what it’s like to work behind a bar, including mixing, shaking and serving your own drinks.
But you don’t go to Lab22 to work, you go to enjoy yourself. The menu has periodic table style to it, while each drink is illustrated so you can see what it looks like.
There are five elements to the menu, which are Popular Science, Exotic Theory, Heavy Elements, Light Particles and Large Hadron Colliders.
Teaches of Peaches is made with Portobello Road Gin, Aperol, Cocchi Americano, white peach blossom, cordial, orange bitters and a dash of soda.
Botany is made using Prosecco, Bombay Sapphire Gin, poppy liqueur, flower power and meadow mist.
Alchemist’s Garden is made using peach-infused Lillet, rosato, Benedictine, absinthe and smoke.
