Eve Bar

Covent Garden, London

Eve is Adam Handling's stand-alone bar which is situated underneath his flagship Michelin-starred restaurant Frog, in the heart of Theatreland in London’s Covent Garden.

Eve is Chef Adam Handling MBE’s stand-alone bar which is situated underneath his flagship Michelin-starred restaurant Frog, in the heart of Theatreland in London’s Covent Garden. It was his first move into the standalone cocktail bar market.

Scottish-born Handling started his apprenticeship at the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel, in Scotland, at the age of 16. His cooking is all about celebrating the best of British produce, with a luxury yet sustainable approach.

This can also be shown in the food offering at Eve bar, which includes the likes of Caviar, potato, truffle, and Lobster tempura.

Eve bar showcases the magical synergy between kitchen and bar. Imagine the recycling triangle – the top right line is for Frog restaurant and its prime dishes; the bottom line is for snacks and bar food and then that final line is for alcohol. The parts of ingredients that can’t be used on the main Frog menu are used to create the snacks and smaller dishes for Eve and then they use those remaining ingredients to form the basis of their cocktails.

The innovative cocktail menu includes unexpected takes on cocktail favourites with exciting and unique flavours created in their state-of-the-art drinks lab, which is used to distil, carbonate and clarify the bar’s signature creations. This cocktail list includes Coffee Slayer, a sustainable twist on an espresso martini; Connect the Scots, made from biscuit trim, Whisky and butter; and Perfect, Three Cherries, which encapsulates the full life cycle of a cherry – using cherry blossom, dehydrated cherry stones, and the cherry itself.

In 2023, Handling was crowned BBC TV’s Great British Menu ‘Champion of Champions’. He was also selected by the BBC’s One Show as one of four British chefs to create an official recipe for the Coronation celebrations of King Charles III, and in 2024, was awarded an MBE.
