Whether a guest at the hotel, a passing commuter or Mayfair resident, the Connaught Bar is the place to be.
Conversation flows over sparkling glasses and candlelit tables, while behind the bar, expert tenders shake, mix and pour new and classic libations to the delight of eager guests.
The surroundings are almost as good as the cocktails served, with textured walls adorned in platinum silver leaf surrounding a cool grey bar.
A light bar snacks menu is available throughout the day as well as canapes for the evening, making this bar a day-to-night venue.
Famed for its martini trolley, which brings ceremony to perhaps the world’s most well-known cocktail, guests ordering the libation will see a bartender wheel their drink’s very own stage towards them. Following which, they will choose between shaken or stirred as well as their preferred gin, further tailored by a choice of handmade bitters.
Other legendary classics mastered by the bar include the Bloody Mary, made with Ketel One vodka, fresh tomato juice, homemade spicy mix, fresh lemon juice and celery air.
Also, the Faraway Collins – the Connaught’s twist on a Tom Collins – is made using Star of Bombay gin, Sarsaparilla soda water, fresh yuzu juice and homemade eucalyptus-infused sugar syrup.
However, the showstoppers on the bar’s most recent seasonal menu included beverages inspired to help drinkers discover multi-dimensional cocktails from the bold down to the subtle.
Broken into three sections – Equilibrium, Paradigm and Nebula – the Formae menu consists of beautifully balanced drinks mixed with the mind to inspire and excite.
The bar was also recently named as the top bar in the world by World’s 50 Best Bars, and for the second year in a row Europe’s best bar.
