Homeboy Bar

Islington, London

Homeboy Bar in Islington, Greater London, is the first bar from Irish team Aaron Wall and Ciarán Smith, who offer the very best of warm Irish hospitality in a laid-back style.

The duo pride themselves on bringing modern Irish hospitality to the front of what they do, driven by a focus on home comforts.

Both Aaron and Ciarán have worked in other high-end cocktail bars including Callooh Callay, the London Cocktail Club and the Dorchester to name a few.

Homeboy Bar, however, is a ‘goodtime’ bar with a focus on relaxed fun, good food and cocktails, cocktails, cocktails, mixed with an RnB and hip-hop soundtrack.

The bar also celebrates Irish producers by putting spirits and food from the Emerald Isle at the forefront of its offering.

Food receives the very best treatment alongside cocktails and consists of simple Irish dishes done well, including Irish stews, fish and chips, as well as Saturday brunch and Sunday roasts.

The cocktail menu is detailed and covers everything from the classics to inhouse specials and of course, the Irish Coffee. But it’s not just one Irish coffee choice, there are three including the standard, a Pot Still and the Belfast Coffee.

Moving through the wider cocktail menu and guests will see a selection of familiar classics, but cleverly restyled, as well as inhouse makes.

Notable serves include the Whiskey Smash made with Roe & Co Irish Whiskey, Noilly Prat, mint and greens syrup, and orange bitters; Aviation, made using Boatyard Irish Double Gin, Crème De Violette, Luxardo Maraschino and lemon; and Hurricane, made with Bacardi Carta Blanca, Bacardi Cuatro, Appleton Estate, lemon and Hudson Fashionola.

Homeboy cocktails are sensibly priced considering the high quality serve and ingredients used in the drinks.
