Homeboy Bar in Islington, Greater London, is the first cocktail bar from Irish team Aaron Wall and Ciarán Smith, both of whom have a raft of serious experience between them.
The duo pride themselves on bringing modern Irish hospitality to the front of what they do, driven by a focus on home comforts.
Both Aaron and Ciarán have worked in other high-end cocktail bars including Callooh Callay, the London Cocktail Club and the Dorchester to name a few.
Homeboy Bar, however, is a ‘goodtime’ bar with a focus on relaxed fun, good food and cocktails, cocktails, cocktails, mixed with an RnB and hip-hop soundtrack.
The bar also celebrates Irish producers but putting spirits and food from the Emerald Isle at the forefront of its offering.
The cocktail menu is comprised of three pillars – Irish Whiskey, where the versatility of the spirit is showcased; Contemporary, showing cocktails that are made using modern methods; and Classics, where respect is paid to cocktails from decades past.
Cocktails include the Whisky Smash made using Roe & Co Irish Whiskey; Irish Coffee made using The Dead Rabbit Irish Whiskey; and the Wogan, made using Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey.
Non-whiskey cocktails include Sex Advice, made with Grey Goose vodka; Corn and Oil, made with Bacardi 8 Rum; and Bump & Grind, which is made with Finlandia Vodka.
There is also a neat selection of Champagnes, beer, cider and wine, including a mix of draught, bottled and canned craft beers.
