This gorgeous Liverpool cocktail bar and café is well worth your time day or night, featuring clever cocktails served in a casual, yet dapper, environment.
Filter + Fox was set up by two friends, Owain Williams and Chris Edwards, who have years of experience working in food and drink, and wanted to put what they have learned into practice in a venue they could call their own. And, by gum, they’ve learnt a lot.
Filter + Fox is not your traditional ‘open-late’ cocktail bar, in fact, it shuts up shop at 8pm, having opened for breakfast 12 hours previously. But don’t look down on it just because it has an early bedtime.
The duo behind the bar and café launched it in 2015 and are serving some very clever mixed drinks, many of which are made with the environment in mind.
Of its cocktail list, the bar’s website says: “The team at Filter + Fox have been working solidly for the past few months on a new cocktail menu inspired by the world’s influences through the centuries on Britain, and in turn, our influence across the seas on the rest of the world.”
Notable cocktails include the Commonwealth Gimlet – basmati, Elephant Gin, wasted citrus cordial; The Norseman – dill, aquavit, Reyka Vodka, lemon, black pepper, peychaud and ‘sea’; and Guido – toasted oat, Green Spot Irish Whiskey, walnut, clarified apple and burnt sugar.
A nice selection of wine and beers are also available for those who want something simple.
Food, if you’re interested, is uncomplicated fare consisting of sandwiches, bagels, toasted sandwiches and salads. Simple, but delicious.
